Project Overview
In this project, the Kitchen Waste Treatment System, developed by JONO Enviro is the first application of the proprietary M2RT organic waste treatment technology in food waste management. This system ensures full resource utilization and environmentally friendly disposal of kitchen waste. M2RT technology extracts organic slurry from waste for biogas power generation while processing the remaining solids through biological drying for incineration or composting.
Introduction to M2RT
M2RT refers to an organic waste treatment technology independently developed by JONO Group, specifically designed for efficient resource recovery and harmless processing of wet waste (e.g., food waste). Below is a structured summary of its core definition and technical features:
Technical Definition
M2RT stands for Multi-Mode Resource Transformation. It integrates processes such as sorting, high-pressure extrusion, and anaerobic fermentation to achieve full resource recovery and harmless treatment of organic waste.
Process Flow
Three-Directional High-Pressure Extrusion
A high-pressure system extracts free organic matter from food waste to produce organic slurry, which is then used for wet anaerobic fermentation to generate biogas and electricity.
Solid Residue Treatment
The extruded solid residues are processed through a biological drying system to reduce moisture content and increase calorific value. These residues are either: Co-incinerated with dry waste for power generation, or converted into organic fertilizer via a switchable composting mode.
Full-Process Synergy
Combines pretreatment, anaerobic fermentation, and biological drying modules into a closed-loop treatment chain.
Project Highlights
The project has the following three outstanding highlights:
Advanced M2RT Technology for Efficient Waste Separation
Utilizes a three-way high-pressure extrusion system to effectively separate liquid and solid fractions of kitchen waste.
Enhances biogas production by optimizing organic slurry extraction for anaerobic digestion.
Enables seamless transition between biological drying and composting for flexible waste processing.
Optimized Energy Recovery & Waste Utilization
Organic slurry is processed into biogas for power generation, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
Dried solid waste, with reduced moisture and increased calorific value, is used for waste-to-energy incineration.
Composting capabilities provide an additional sustainable use for residual organic matter.
Environmental and Operational Sustainability
Reduces landfill dependency and mitigates environmental pollution.
Maintains high sanitary standards with a streamlined, pollution-free treatment process.
Successfully implemented at the Liming Organic Solid Waste Treatment Plant in Shanghai, setting a benchmark for sustainable waste management in China.
Conclusion
JONO Enviro’s Kitchen Waste Treatment System, powered by M2RT technology, revolutionizes food waste management by maximizing resource recovery and energy production. The successful implementation in Shanghai demonstrates its potential to transform waste treatment practices across China, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
