This project aims to deal with an illegal landfill in Wuxue, Hubei Province. The main purpose of this project is to reduce the amount of waste. In this project, iron, magnetic metals, rocks, humus and combustibles in landfill waste are pre-sorted by mechanical treatment. Combustible materials enter cement kilns for coprocessing treatment, metal and stone are sold for reuse, and humus is used for soil remediation.
Landfill waste comes from MSW. With natural biodegradation of organic matter, landfill waste in anaerobic environment will produce toxic flammable gas such as hydrogen sulfide, and methane. Illegal landfill that without seepage prevention also has risk of contaminating soil and polluting groundwater problems.
